How to Include Pets in Your Wedding Day

By Tabitha Fitzsimmons, The Bradford Estate Wedding Coordinator
Pets are family members and best friends. If you’re a pet lover I’m sure the thought has crossed your mind on how to incorporate them into your wedding. Certainly we at the Clarks Landing Group love having your pets as a part of your day in one way or another. Here are some questions we get asked and tips on including your pets in your special day!

Are Pets Allowed at the Venue?

Yes! We love having the furry friends be a part of photos or the ceremony. While the pets must stay outside,  they still are more than welcome. We absolutely love seeing them as part of your couple portraits and what’s cuter than a flower or best dog? If you can get your cat to cooperate we would be very impressed and love it. How to Include Pets From Home

There are lots of creative ways you can incorporate your pets into your wedding and reception without them being there.
  • Place their photos in your slideshow or in frames with other family pictures. If you had them as a part of your engagement or engagement photos, this is a great way to show those off!
  • Use them as a part of your paper goods such as Invitation Suites, Seating Cards or Chart, Menus, Table numbers, Signature Drink signs, etc.
  • Second, you could have favors in honor of them  for guests’ pets at the end of the night
  • Another great idea is to donate to an animal shelter or non profit in lieu of favors or to cover the adoption fees of pets at the shelter and provide cards with the pets so guests can go adopt them at no charge.
  • Lastly, include them in your cake design whether having the bakery create models or painting on the cake or with your cake topper.

Wedding Day Pet Care by Pet Attendants

There are different companies that offer wedding day pet care services by qualified pet attendants. We like these pet care attendant vendors: Pawfect for You  Furever and Always  Furthermore, you can check in with local pet sitters or have a friend or family member take care of bringing your pet for photos and returning it home before the ceremony or reception. Most couples tend to opt for the friend or family option. We hope these tips are helpful in planning how you would like to incorporate your pets into your special day!
